The Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival Opening Toast

  • Friday, September 13, 2019
  • 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Registration is closed

Join us this Friday at 5:00PM for a celebratory toast with the Executive Director of the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival and local filmmakers in attendance!

The mission of the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival is to celebrate African American cinema and the African cultural Diaspora and to showcase a diverse collection of films – from emerging and established filmmakers. This is accomplished by providing film artists a forum for their work to be viewed, while simultaneously serving as a vehicle to initiate dialogue on the critical issues of our times.

Refreshments provided and are open to everyone! The festival begins officially at 6:30PM with While I Breathe I Hope (2019)

The Nightlight Cinema is located at 30 North High Street in downtown Akron. It opened on July 1, 2014 thanks to key grants from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and GAR Foundation.

Hours: Open seven days a week. Box office, bar, and concessions open 30 minutes before the first show of the day and close when the last show ends. Typically, this is from 6:30pm to 11:00pm.

Parking: Parking is available at meters on High Street. Street parking is free after 6pm and throughout the weekend. Parking is also available at the High/Market Parking Deck next to the Akron-Summit County Library and across from the Akron Art Museum.
