The Nightlight Cinema Explorers present...

A POP-UP ART SHOW OF FUNGI-INSPIRED ARTWORKS!

to benefit the Nightlight Cinema

Join us online for a community-created art show to benefit the Nightlight Cinema. Inspired by the mycelial network explored in the film Fantastic Fungi. Cinema Explorers and guest contributing artists have made works of art in honor of the network of art house cinema lovers who believe in Nightlight's mission of advancing cinema and community in tandem. VIEW GALLERY

Fine Art Prints, and other items are available to purchase directly from the gallery. Profits from sales benefit the Nightlight!

Our inspiration: "Fantastic Fungi: The Mushroom Movie", directed by Louie Schwartzberg, takes viewers on an immersive journey through time and scale into the magical earth beneath our feet, an underground network that can heal and save our planet. While the current health advisories led The Nightlight to close its physical doors in the week prior to this film's Nightlight debut, the Cinema Explorers were inspired to continue with our planned exhibition moving to an online gallery format.

Moving Studio Productions, an Akron-based film company donated the hosting galley which will allow guests to purchase fine art prints of selected artworks to support the Nightlight Cinema during our time of closing. Profits go to support the Cinema Explorers and the Nightlight Cinema.

Just like their fungal inspirations, the artworks can pop in and out of the gallery and come in many shapes and sizes. Are you interested in contributing an artwork to this show? You can! Use this link to register to contribute your artwork to our fundraiser.

The Nightlight Cinema Explorers are a student member group interested in creating work that engages the theater's goal of advancing cinema and community in tandem.

What is a Cinema Explorer? The Cinema Explorers donate volunteer hours helping decorate at events, producing creative works that reflect on their experience with our cinema and/or otherwise engage in cinematic investigations such as writing reviews, coming up with recipes based on movies (dinner and a movie), creating fan art, hosting film talks with other students in our lounge space after watching movies together, and much more!
